Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American actor-producer and stage actress is well-known for her role in the movie Ray Undercover Brother as well as in The Mentalist. She earned the B.A. in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, writer and American actress active in theatre in film, television, and theatre. Her acting career started in the theatre. Later, she was a part of numerous television shows, independent films and mainstream movies. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with praise from critics but also numerous nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. She began her career as an actress in 1995, when she appeared as Ariel in The Tempest. Stage credits include Come and Gone Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production directed by Joe Turner. Coming to her movie career she is most well-known for her performances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her role as a regular on the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
